2025 Hong Kong Inter-School (Secondary) MBS Business Simulation Management Competition

Competition Overview
The Hong Kong Management Association (HKMA) launched the Hong Kong Business Simulation Management Competition in 1971 to provide corporate management teams with a platform to experience real-world business scenarios and make strategic decisions in a simulated business environment. Since 2020, the competition has been extended to secondary school students to spark their curiosity and interest in the business world, and to encourage young people to explore and develop their business potential.
This annual simulation competition uses a sophisticated and challenging computer program to present realistic business scenarios. Participants must apply business knowledge and practical management skills to make strategic decisions in areas such as product design, marketing, capacity management, manpower planning, research and development, finance, and investment.
The secondary school competition is divided into two major components:
- Business Course Module – This module offers a series of business-related courses taught by senior executives with extensive experience in corporate management. The courses aim to introduce students to business operations and knowledge in areas such as company overview, financial management, strategy, and decision-making.
- Business Simulation Module – Conducted in a team-based format, each team consists of four students. Acting as corporate managers, students will operate and manage a simulated business. They will analyze business performance, consider external market conditions and competitors, and use the knowledge acquired in school and the business courses—including finance, production, investment, marketing, and human resource management—to devise optimal strategies. The team with the highest profit and market share will be declared the winner.
Certificates and Awards
All participating students will receive a “Business Simulation Management Competition” certificate issued by the Hong Kong Management Association.
Winning teams will receive additional certificates and attractive prizes. Participants may also have opportunities to take part in other HKMA-organized activities and exchanges.
